For this month’s neighborhood dining adventure, our hygienists Joy, Lynda, and Kate decided to go somewhere with one of their favorite things: sushi. After trying many of the sushi spots around Portland, the trio was excited to visit Yama Sushi and Sake Bar for the first time.

Piazza Italia has earned a loyal following for its authentic Italian cooking, welcoming atmosphere, and genuine charm. With Jordan’s Italian mother visiting from out of town, it was the perfect opportunity to see if Portland could live up to some high Italian standards.

Our awesome dental assistant Julie recently checked out one of Portland’s most talked-about Thai restaurants, Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine, for this month’s neighborhood food feature. Drawn in by the positive reviews and photos online, Julie decided it was time to see what all the hype was about.

Two of our incredible doctors, Dr. Amanda and Dr. Sahar, got to try out one of Portland’s newest bars in the Pearl District for this month’s exploration of drinks and bites in our neighborhood. “Pretty Ugly” cocktail bar was the farthest thing from ugly with its upscale atmosphere and delicious food and drinks.

The Bling Dental team is always on the lookout for a new spot in the Pearl District to try out, and this month our wonderful hygienist, Lynda, took one for the team and stumbled upon Momoyama, a Japanese restaurant known for its fresh fish and traditional flavors.

A small but welcoming spot with a rustic feel, Piattino brings a sense of sophistication while also still feeling homey. 

From the moment they walked in, the two were impressed. “The staff was so friendly, everything was spotless, and the décor was beautiful,” Christy said. “Even the lighting felt perfectly planned.”

From the moment they stepped inside, Kate and Becky said MEC felt like the kind of place where you could unwind while also feeling like you were still treating yourself.
