Neighborhood Bites – Silk Road
For this month’s neighborhood dining adventure, our insurance duo, Olivia and Molly, and Nataly, our lovely dental assistant, decided to revisit a local favorite: Silk Road! After enjoying happy hour here in the past, the three wanted to experience more of the menu and see what else this neighborhood spot had to offer. With delicious drinks, unique Asian-inspired dishes, and a cool atmosphere, they were ready for a full dining experience.

First Impressions
The three were greeted and sat at a comfy but stylish corner booth. The mood lighting, beautiful bar, and cozy atmosphere immediately gave Silk Road a cool, stylish vibe. The space felt intimate and welcoming, and they also had a consistently great playlist on. The restaurant also provided a great balance between upscale and relaxed. It feels special enough for a night out but not too fancy or intimidating.
Amazing Flavors!
When it came time to order, the group decided to try a little bit of everything! They started with crispy pork egg rolls served with hot honey mustard, a refreshing cucumber salad with ginger, shallots, cilantro, sesame seeds, and microgreens, and the salt and pepper calamari.
For the main event, they sampled the Silk Dumplings filled with wagyu beef, along with wok'd rice with Chinese sausage, oyster sauce, green onion, and cucumber. They also enjoyed crispy tofu with broccoli, carrots, cabbage, and chili garlic sauce, Chow Chow noodles with flank steak, egg, and onion, and General Tso chicken topped with Sichuan peppers, green onions, and sesame seeds.
A few dishes quickly became favorites. The crispy pork egg rolls were a must-have, the calamari was tender and flavorful, and the cucumber salad was refreshing, garlicky, and absolutely addictive. The wok'd rice was another unexpected standout. Simple in the best way, it was so savory and delicious that the group couldn't stop going back for more!
And, of course, they had to try dessert. They finished with the Malaysian fried ice cream, featuring vanilla ice cream, cinnamon sugar, raspberry compote, chocolate drizzle, and pandan dust. It was an amazing ending to an already incredible meal.
Drinks Worth Coming Back For
While the food was a highlight, the drinks deserve their own moment! The group ordered the “Dew Process,” a cocktail made with vanilla vodka, jasmine, honeydew, mango, and hibiscus.
The drink was juicy, fruity, and wonderfully herbal, creating a combination that was as refreshing as it was delicious. It was so good that they ordered a second round!
Between the creative cocktails and the flavorful food, Silk Road made it easy to see why this spot is worth visiting for more than just happy hour.
Service & Atmosphere
The food and drinks were impressive, but the overall experience made the visit even better. The service was attentive throughout the meal, with everyone checking in regularly to make sure the group had everything they needed.
Combined with the intimate, moody atmosphere, the friendly service made the evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. Silk Road has a way of feeling a little upscale without being overly formal, making it an easy choice for everything from a casual after-work gathering to a romantic date night.
Final Thoughts
After discovering Silk Road through word of mouth and enjoying a few happy hours there, Molly, Olivia, and Nataly were excited to explore more of the menu. And after this visit, they can confidently say there's a lot to love!
Would they recommend it to others? Absolutely! With amazing food, creative cocktails, friendly service, and a beautiful atmosphere, Silk Road is a spot that works for just about any occasion. Whether you're stopping by for drinks after work or planning a cozy dinner out, you really can't go wrong with what you order.
