Keys to Invisalign success

Wear your trays all the time.

Wear your trays 24 hours a day. All day, all night, eating, drinking, and sleeping. Remove your trays only to clean them, and brush and floss your teeth after meals. Minimize sugar/acidic intake.

Continue to wear your trays even in the rare instance that they break.

If you lose a tray, why were you not wearing it? Put in your previous tray, and call the office for further instructions.

Again, wear your aligners all of the time. Eating, sleeping, morning, and night. Only take them out after eating to rinse them off, brush, and floss, then pop them right back in!

Be cautious with these foods

Foods to be cautious of eating in your trays include: Beets, turmeric, curry, red wine, strongly colored teas, gum, and some energy drinks.

Save your aligners

Always save all your aligners, and bring them to all of your appointments, this helps prevent potential mix ups. Bling Dental will recycle them for you as you progress through your treatment.

Need a replacement?

If an attachment falls off, do not worry! There is back up to most of your attachments, but please contact us to let us know. We will replace it (if necessary) at your next Invisalign appointment.

Any gum or cheek irritation can be easily solved with the ortho wax supplied in the tray case. You can buy more from a pharmacy or drug store, if needed.

While uncommon, if needed for some soreness Motrin/Advil/Ibuprofen can be taken if you can tolerate it with your medications or medical conditions you may have. If unsure, call your physician.

Keep your aligners and case away from pets. Even pets who don’t usually chew on things, love aligners.

If you notice a sharp spot on your aligners: use an emory board (nail file) to smooth it out, use a nail clipper to clip it off, or call the office. We can polish it for you.

If the alligners are not fitting properly on your teeth, do not continue to your next set of aligners. Call us, and make an appointment to get checked out!

Wear your aligners as instructed by your dentist.
